The room was filled with smoke, women in slinky tie-dye shirts danced hither and yon, each as though she were hearing a different song. The lead guitarist was playing a Jimi Hendrix riff that had everyone on their feet and screaming. It was the kind of music that created and supported an entire generation. Yet it was no longer 1969, it was 2005. Unbelievably, the band was the same — the West Coast Iron Works — a band who won San Diego’s Battle of the Bands more than any other band. The bass player took off on a Jim Morrison and the Doors song and still had a flock of groupies standing at his feet; the band switched to Cream’s White Room and a spell fell over the crowd. The music was exactly as it was written and performed 35 years ago — sheer, unadulterated rock & roll!

You guys ROCK! I’m still hearing people talk about what a great show your band put on. What I saw of it was like being at a concert in the‘60s, only now it’s tank tops instead of Tye-Dye! I wish I could’ve stayed there and danced with the rest of the crowd. We look forward to having you back!

Thanks Rich, Gary and all the band, for helping to make our Coronado 4th of July in Spreckle’s Park a huge success again. West Coast Iron Works is the only band we’ve ever had back for successive years. The fact that this is your 3rd year in a row should say it all. Thanks also for taking over some of the promotional needs in my absence. I know I can count on you and West Coast Iron Works to go that extra mile.

West Coast Iron Works is the highlight of our event every year. You never fail to bring the audience back to the ‘60s. At first people are standing around amazed to hear the music they grew up with recreated so well, but before long they’re dancing like teenagers!
We’ll use West Coast Iron Works whenever possible. Thanks for the great music!
